Yesterday, I convinced two coworkers to start buying & holding Bitcoin through Strike. They're 50+ female nurses.
I also convinced another 20-something female coworker to sell all of her cryptos and put it into Bitcoin. Unfortunately she's been using Robinhood but at least they offer withdrawals now.
Yeah, they're unfortunately using custodial services. Hoping I can find (or provide) them an Uncle Jim scenario at some point because they're not advanced enough to learn self-custody yet.
Oh, and this past weekend, I talked to my mom's husband and his millionaire boss about it. Seems they will both be "investing" at some point. The boss specifically said he'd be getting in touch with me.
Fuck off with your communist bullshit, you statist twat. You're the exact type of person this post is referring to. I don't have a duty to do a damn thing for anyone, nor would I willingly subject myself to a community who believes otherwise.
Hoo boy, wait until you get a hold of US attorneys and the US court system. They don't even follow their own rules or understand what a constitution is supposed to do!
There is a difference between those who want to learn and those who refuse it. No one changed my mind but myself - pursuing it of my own accord. If someone comes to me genuinely, I am more likely to speak nicely about it, but those who come for the sake of argument will receive dogma.
I will, however, forgive no one that wished me to lose my job or wished ill upon myself or my family.
If I told you I'd give you $10 million today, but tomorrow you'd be dead, would you take it?
Of course not. You likely value your time on Earth more than that.
I would assume that was definitely the case. Knowing what I know now, I would have drastically increased the fat and possibly lowered the protein. I was getting 200-300g/protein per day and should have been around 120-150g at most. Given that I was eating mostly ribeye with the occasional strip steak, my fat:protein ratio was probably 1:1 at best.
My response to the intrinsic argument is something more like this:
Very few things have actual intrinsic value. Sunlight and water are some of the only things on earth that have naturally-occurring value to all living things because they wouldn’t survive without it. Food (used generally) could be considered to have intrinsic value for the same reason. Outside of that, each individual human values things differently, so the value each individual human gives something depends on its usefulness to them. Some people may consider gold valuable as a money, some may find it valuable in electronics, others may not find it valuable at all.
This is why I am of the opinion that we need to get back to spending more time living with our extended families. Fortunately or unfortunately, many are getting back to that even now because of the increased cost of living in many places. My wife and I are trying to sell our house to move in with my in-laws. I'm very much looking forward to it.
Not only would we get a chance to go on dates more often, my in-laws will be able to spend more time with their granddaughter. We will all have a decrease in costs. We will do more things as families. We could even build a compound (which I've recently started planning).
Listening to WW is your biggest issue. She's a giant black pill.
Otherwise, I'm of the opinion that we might not have an election, but ultimately I'm not worried about it. We have plenty of people in this country with a good head on their shoulders who would be willing to fight back if the time comes.
Whatever happens - whatever potential disaster, war, unrest may happen, there's nothing we are going to do to stop it. All we can do is prepare for the worst and do our best to protect our families if the worst comes.
I don't think it will be as bad as many people think. If it is, so be it.
I did carnivore for about two years consisting of just two ribeyes/day with the occasional strip steak or sirloin. It worked well during those two years until it didn't. After it stopped working, I started gaining all the weight back that I'd lost and my energy TANKED. Many carnivores experience the same. Some do well on it, but it seems that if you're fat:protein ratio is too low, you're more likely to experience those symptoms.
I too was in the "carbs are terrible" camp for a very long time, even though my carnivore experience was declining. I figured it was something else. I kept pursuing it to my detriment and I've only recently started figuring out how to get my energy back (thanks Ray Peat).
I'd recommend reading link within this post: #750135. It absolutely blew my mind and the more I follow Ray Peat's work and those who've branched off of him, the more sense things make.
This guy is a great example of someone doing a very high carb diet and only experiencing benefits. I've also strategically added a lot of carbs into my diet. I haven't gained any weight and my energy is coming back. I say "strategically" for a reason as you will discover if you get into the "Peaty" side of things.
The body is very complicated and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Mostly carnivore may work well for you, but understand that things may change. Always keep an open mind.
Let's make something very clear: food questionnaires, and especially meta-analyses based off said questionnaires, are heinously poor at making assumptions anywhere near correct. We have been in fact reducing sugar intake overall while obesity and sickness continue to climb.
We need to stop with the "sUgAr aNd cArBs aRe bAd" nonsense. Post WWII, humans used to eat 3500-4000 calories per day, staying only moderately active at best, while weighing an average of ~155lbs. Much of that was sugar which, in actuality, is very pro-metabolic. You can find that information in US Army documents and other non-military literature.
There are MANY other things in our food, especially in the United States, that are making us sick and unhealthy. The list is quite long.
Our metabolisms have been compromised. Fix that and you'll be able to enjoy your food again instead of subjecting yourself to incredibly restrictive "diets".
"Legally," within the US jurisdiction, the thing that is forcing you to keep "your" first and last name is the fact that you keep using those as "your" name. It all started when you received you birth certificate, then your driver's license, your bank account, etc. You are using an identity of "theirs" for "benefits" (licenses, permits, accounts, etc) that ultimately they control. The more benefits you use, the more easily you prove "your" identity. Typically, stolen identity cases are not always easy to prosecute.
The same thing could be done with different identifying documents. If you found a birth certificate that was nearly the same age as you are (or, as you think you are since you are not aware of the actual date of your own birth due to lack of mental capacity) and did not already have someone using it, you could start over again with that identity.
As I said in my other comment, I recommend people read The Paper Trip Series. They can be bought all at once or one at a time.
