Very interesting! From a more Western perspective I'm assuming the holding of static postures is a similar practice to isometrics. Lately, I've been implementing more isometrics into my training routine for strength, but also to keep my tendons in shape. The Horse Stance is another form of static posture that has it's roots from the East I believe.
Can't wait to read more of your posts!
Excellent, will add to my books to read list!
"The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg is another solid book, although it's been a while since I read it so will have to go back and reread myself.
Now this is what a true community is about! I've been taking hot baths as another accessible way to promote hormesis, if you want to give something else a try, always start slow though.
I have not lol
Hmm that's an interesting one actually! I mean I certainly feel good after brushing my teeth but never thought of it as a guilty pleasure.
Dream on!
Absolutely! Bitcoin has reminded me to go back to my roots of having huge aspirations as a kid yet to be tainted by fiat conditioning, and to freaking DREAM BIG! The fiat world forces us to live small, think small, aim for average, but Bitcoin told me, 'Fuck that! Go freaking live your life to it's true potential!' and I haven't looked back since!
Trust me I'm no good writer either! But this community has taught me that that's okay, and thing is the more we practice especially within a supportive community like SN, the better we become at it!
Thank you for reading! Yes indeed, I've let so many ideas die but moving forward I aim to release that energy to the world and see what happens!
I do think there is an element of that when it comes to me in the past being hesitant in expressing my thoughts, feelings, and ideas. But I also am very grateful that my parents made the decision to have me in the States and raised me in the US because I feel I am both understanding of the importance of the collective (Japanese culture) but at the same time have an appreciation for maintaining a sense of self and at times prioritizing the individual ahead of the collective (US culture).
