Welcome to Books & Articles Weekly.
The big news…
Stacker News Fiction MonthStacker News Fiction Month
We are in the home stretch of Stacker News fiction month. Someone told me that in contests like these, you typically get 20% of the entries in the final week. If that’s the case, it may take us a month to judge the winners. It’s a good problem to have. This was the official announcement. @Scoresby is the brains behind this idea, which is being jointly sponsored by him along with @TotallyHumanWriter and this territory. As I’m sure many of you know, @TotallyHumanWriter is the editor of the 21 Futures fiction anthology. You now have about a week left. There’s still time to be deemed the Raymond Carver of Stacker News. (Well, maybe not everyone likes that guy. I’m showing my age and taste). This contest has been a mixed blessing. Although it has certainly given the territory needed attention, I’m afraid that some really high quality content might get less attention if it’s not a fiction month entry. So, I’ll try to do what I can with suggestions.
Reminder: For the time being I will zap the top post half the rewards I receive before the next week’s issue, rather than split zaps into cowboy credits.
Happy reading!
As always, please reply with suggestions and opinions on how to make this territory better.

I suggest you read all of this week’s fiction, since August is fiction month around here.
We haven’t had poetry month around here yet, but we will. This one will be a strong contender. I don’t claim to be any kind of expert poetry critic, but I liked this.
I really enjoyed this book review. Obviously I’m not alone, since it got plenty of engagement. I still want to include it here, because it deserves even more attention.
Wow! It’s not often that this territory gets a good, knock down, drag out political discussion going, but I’m always happy when it happens. Check out the post and the replies.
This post by @Scoresby really got no attention whatsoever, but he discovered an intriguing story that unfolds by the week. It’s worth your time.
