Thank you!
I've been thinking how I should approach this pick and while I was driving my son home from the playground, I realized I was making it more complicated than it should be.
In the end, it comes down to if I want to be correct (based on what I know and what I believe), or if I want a chance to win this contest. And I think being correct (or at least being true to myself) is more important to me than winning 10k sats. And I strongly believe that the OKC will win the chip and SGA will be finals MVP. So that will be my pick, no games, no calculations, just what I believe in. After all, I cannot be the self proclaimed NBA guru of SN if I don't pick according to what I believe to be true.
Again, to confirm, I pick OKC to win the championship and SGA to win finals MVP.
I also thought Haliburton should have been ECF MVP. I heard somewhere, I forgot where, that the vote was 5-4 split between Siakam and Haliburton. Haliburton had a couple bad games, and that inconsistency was probably what cost him the ECF MVP.
But he can wait for everyone else, and if we all picked Pacers, he can't lose by picking Pacers, even if the result is Thunder, SGA. Can even hedge his bets and go Pacers, SGA.
I really don't see anyone else winning finals MVP if OKC wins the chip. But if Pacers win, Hali or Siakam are both possible MVP outcomes.
I'll take my time on choosing this round, haha.
It's not about how often you change the diaper, but how timely you change it. But remembering to change the diaper is a good start.
Every kid is different and requires different strategies/ways. You just figure it out along the way, in hopes that you don't go insane during the process.
I do think the best advice is to not forget about your better half just because you got a kid. The kid will just leave you after he/she grows up, but your better half is the one that you will spend the rest of your life with. Also, having the both of you working together trying to figure the kid out is better than doing it solo.
Yea, I keep thinking about defensive matchups and it seems OKC can guard the whole Pacers team, but Pacers defense don't seems to be able guard OKC. You put Siakam on Chet, Nembhard on SGA, but Nesmith seems too small for JDub. OKC will probably be hunting Turner for the small on big mismatch too, as Turner is not a very good defender. Force Pacers to switch Turner onto SGA and that's a bucket.
This is a great matchup btw, just thought I'll get that out of the way.
Yes, I think the Pacers do have a shot, but they have to play very well and their margin for error is very small. OKC is clearly the favorite, the better team, and more likely to win. OKC's youth and suffocating defense will cause a lot of trouble for the Pacers. Good thing, the Pacers are also young and like to play with fast pace. I think that will allow them to get fast break buckets, and score before OKC defense is set. Pacers need to be very decisive and know what they will do before going into the game. They cannot try to figure it out as they play, because that will likely cause turnovers. Having Carlisle as their coach helps too, but it will be an uphill battle for the Pacers.
That sounds fun! Thanks for the suggestion. But I'm still only going to commit to 100km a month. Maybe run the fiat exchange rate as a challenge / bonus. Because when bitcoin goes on one of those runs and hits 200k+, which I expect to happen sometime this year, I'm fucked.
They're moving to ESPN/ABC, same 4 hosts and same production crew. Everything will still be made in Atlanta, except that the show will be aired on ESPN/ABC. Probably will be given a different name, but I expect the same show to go on. End of an era nevertheless, because it's no longer NBA on TNT.
I finally went for a run tonight. First run and also last run this week, only ran 3km. Had been slacking off very bad this week. I've decided on a goal of running at least 100km each month for the rest of this year, so hopefully I will be able to keep that up. Also, hoping that by talking about my goal here, it will give me some accountability to actually get it done.
Barely got my 100km in May thanks to the 42km from the marathon at the beginning of May. It contributed to a big chunk of the quota. Need to stop slacking off and get back to being more active in June, and also the remainder of the year.
Better luck next season man. I had the Pacers winning this round in the points contest. I thought with the pace that the Pacers had been playing, it would be hard for the Knicks to keep up / match with the pace with such a short rotation.
Agreed. I also think he overuses his starters and runs too short a bench. His starters really looked burnt out / fatigued. I think Brunson being so ball dominant is both the reason for the Knicks' success, but also their downfall. They rely too much on his offense, and when he gets shut down, like how he got shut down by Nembhard today, the Knicks get in a heap of trouble offensively.
Let's see how this goes in the off season. But regardless, still a great run by the Knicks this season. Got 1 step further than last season. Good luck next season!
