friends came to visit and I learned something really interesting, we talked about the crypto group VS Bitcoiners, actually it all come down to what people want:
Crypto group: holidays in all inclusive private resorts, sending kids to private schools, basically being able to afford all those top fiat things, but they don't realized that these things are all designed by others, you might be at the top of the food chain but still you are in it.
Bitcoiners: freedom, being left alone to do whatever they want, much happier even to homeschool their own kids, basically out of the food chain, and this is a much harder path, few dare to explore, but that's a whole new world of possibilities out there.
reply
"Crypto" is fiat on steroids

I didn't quite understand why a brunch of smart ppl would work on those scam projects, but now I do - they have different wants.

But there can be other points of view not as positive as yours. For example, one can see in this picture two people shaping each other as he/she wants the other person be, according to his/her standards and expectations, and not helping him/her being him/herself... Something like that...
What do you think?

Close but not quite love.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

9 weeks of blood, sweat n tears just to get this dyslexic boy to remember how to spell How are you? I’m fine.
Yesterday, he learnt was. Today, he remembered it.
He still doesn’t know how to spell sad.
But I felt so proud of him today. I don’t care if there is speech-to-text software available. I can’t imagine someone going through life not knowing how to spell a simple greeting, I’m glad that I made him remember.

Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh, so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids?’ Or ‘Why haven't you bought a house?’ Or ‘Why haven't you bought a car?’ For God’s sake, it isn’t your problem…
reply
SOME SOCIAL RULES THAT MAY HELP YOU (copy pasted as found)
  1. Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they have something important to attend to.
  2. Return money that you have borrowed even before the person who loaned it to you remembers or asks for it. It shows your integrity and character. The same goes for umbrellas, pens, and lunch boxes.
  3. Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is treating you to lunch or dinner.
  4. Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh, so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids?’ Or ‘Why haven't you bought a house?’ Or ‘Why haven't you bought a car?’ For God’s sake, it isn’t your problem.
  5. Always open the door for the person coming behind you. It doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl, senior or junior. You don’t grow small by treating someone well in public.
  6. If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays now, try paying next time.
  7. Respect different shades of opinions. Remember, what may seem like 6 to you might appear as 9 to someone else. Besides, a second opinion is good for an alternative.
  8. Never interrupt people while they are talking. Allow them to pour it out. As they say, hear them all and filter them all.
  9. If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again. It encourages one to do more and shows how appreciative you are.
  10. Say “thank you” when someone is helping you.
  11. Praise publicly. Criticize privately.
  12. There’s almost never a reason to comment on someone’s weight. Just say, “You look fantastic.” If they want to talk about losing weight, they will.
  13. When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don’t swipe left or right. You never know what’s next.
  14. If a colleague tells you they have a doctor's appointment, don’t ask what it’s for, just say "I hope you’re okay." Don’t put them in the uncomfortable position of having to tell you their personal illness. If they want you to know, they'll do so without your inquisitiveness.
  15. Treat the cleaner with the same respect as the CEO. Nobody is impressed by how rudely you treat someone below you, but people will notice if you treat them with respect.
  16. If a person is speaking directly to you, staring at your phone is rude.
  17. Never give advice until you’re asked.
  18. When meeting someone after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, don’t ask them their age or salary.
  19. Mind your business unless anything involves you directly - just stay out of it.
  20. Remove your sunglasses if you are talking to anyone in the street. It is a sign of respect. Moreover, eye contact is as important as your speech.
  21. Never talk about your riches in the midst of the poor. Similarly, don't talk about your children in the midst of the barren.
  22. After reading a good message, consider saying "Thanks for the message."
APPRECIATION remains the easiest way of getting what you don't have.
reply
Completely agree. I wasn't interested in having a girlfriend or getting married right away, and I got that question almost constantly. The other one that makes me angry to hear is questioning about having kids. Can you imagine how heartwrenching that question could be if you had just lost a baby? I've seen a situation where someone wouldn't let that rest, and the person they were asking had that exact thing happen.
The other questions I don't have as strong of a reaction to because they wouldn't personally bother me, but I certainly wouldn't be asking them myself!
reply
There's a strong sense of obligation to follow the crowd here. I call it social pressure.

So my wife and I are in the middle of preparing our vegetable garden. There has been a problem setting up our irrigation. Our 55 year old well failed, so I needed to hook up to municipal water for the irrigation system until we dig a new well. I needed a makeshift solution to make the hookup. I went to Home Depot to ask for "double female hose" and got some weird responses. One guy says " What? One's not enough for you? "

Registration

Registering anything means it is not yours anymore, and usually you are left with nothing more than the user rights, often requiring “permission” to use in the form of a “licence”.
Note: The word register comes from the Latin word “Regis” meaning “of the king” and the suffix “ter” means “to perform the action”; ergo handing over to the king.
The property rights is now owned, in trust, by the corporation the item or child was registered with. Therefore you are the “holder” or “keeper” and not the “owner”.
Note: The words “Parent” and “child” are legal titles, with the word “child” or “children” meaning chattel owned by the state.
The parents or mother and father are no longer the “legal” parents, but have become nothing more than just “custodians” of a child owned by the state.
This is why “social services”, “public schools” and “hospitals” can now claim ownership over the child, often fining the parents, seizing the child, or even imprisoning the parents.
reply
Register here, register there. I'm fed up of this registration thing. I seriously don't see any use case for registering.
Thanks for holding similar views.
reply
In my country schools are running like a custodian. But when a child fails in an exam or doea nor perform well, they don't take full responsibility. I'm a non believer in schools and for sure I won't send my kids there. Instead, I would teach them myself and tell them to excell on their talents.
