Good. No chance for the FED to make a CBDC.

I concur. Ppl on twitter are saying that "they" won't need congress and will backdoor this somehow. I don't think they realize the massive amounts of regulations around money that would need to be updated to allow this to happen. Can you imagine federal agents just showing up to the banks and demanding write access to their ledgers? That's what's required here.

US House passed the FIT21 bill yesterday. The Republican-Democrat split is there, but the Republican-pro and Democrat-con dichotomy seems murkier. Appears to be getting to the point where Democrats are either (a) not wanting to be labeled as anti-bitcoin (or anti-crypto), thus they're going along, (b) they like the "crypto must be regulated" thesis of the bill and are baiting the hook for big fish, or (c) realizing the costs of scaring away innovation and the potential upsides.
Scoreboard on the vote: Republicans: 208 yes, 3 no. Democrats: 71 yes, 133 no.

It's interesting that somehow Einstein ended up being the go to any definition of "smart person".
Of course Einstein is a powerhouse and a great mind, but even that mind struggled with quantum entanglement, calling it "spooky action at a distance". He found that idea troubling and counterintuitive.
We have since got more and more brilliant minds all around the world, but no one else has been crowned as "the new Einstein" in a way. Before him there was Newton I guess, but that's not used today as a "smart" person anyway.
It's always Einstein. Not sure why, I personally find Richard Feynman a more interesting character and a brilliant mind.
reply
I think it's because he's one of the last people to really shake our understanding of reality. While there were other contributors to relativity, it was largely his creation.
By contrast, there were dozens of brilliant minds involved in developing quantum mechanics.
Also, "Einstein" has a better ring to it than "Heisenberg" (which I didn't even spell right on my first attempt).

Today I heard that a person I knew has died.
It was a person that I didn't really know personally. I just saw this person from time to time, until I didn't.
Asking around I found out that person is now dead. Not sure how, but that's the reality.
I chose to think about this as a "memento mori", you can die at any time, you need to make sure you are having an interesting life and that you are having fun at it.
Because at the end of the day, you never know when you are going to die.

Parenting has improved my ability to read the air.
My son is the kind who keeps quiet n not share what’s bugging him. But it’s very irritating for me, because this means things will come to a standstill as he won’t cooperate.
So, his habit before going home is to eat a cup of yoghurt. But today, he refused, which was ATYPICAL behaviour. It took me some while before I realised that I had earlier asked him to lend his small hippo 🦛 to his sister. He had followed my instruction, even though he didn’t like it.
Him refusing the yoghurt was his silent protest!
Luckily, I was eventually able to figure out the reason and draw a link between his sullen silence and lending his hippo. The sky cleared; we bought his yoghurt; and now, we are on our way home. Phew!

Excellent detective work, sir.

Go to Court

If you “go to court”, you have entered their court and left yours.
This is an administrative court and you have accepted the title defendant, robbing you of your sovereign status and giving authority to the judge.
Never step through the gate, it is called the bar. Doing so is acceptance of the private codes of the bar association.

reply
so just ignore it?
reply
never just ignore court correspondence
reply
so what's the way?
reply
send them back an affidavit asking questions to prove their accusations and who is the real living man behind those accusations. All letters from a "court" are invitations to an "act". You are invited to act as a person (dead entity) not as a living man. That's the biggest trick and people fall for it.
You respond in front of a jury (not a judge) only if there's a crime committed.

Your home culture is an invisible cage, which could potentially limit your growth.
Sharing one funny story, I had my ear piercing about 18 yr, and my dad was so mad at me. Then I often see these cute little girls are already wearing earrings in Turkey, maybe like 5 yrs 😂 ...Many things don't make sense in a place, yet it could be perfectly normal somewhere else. Don't let your home culture limit you or tell you what to do; I think one of the best things you can do is see it from far away, explore around, and then choose what works for you instead of doing what everyone is doing there.
And one thing I noticed is that many people still love to hang out with people coming from the same place and barely leave their own bubbles, even within nomads, expats, or people who moved abroad long time ago would still be married to people coming from the same place, I guess mostly due to convenience and it's easier? nothing is wrong with that but it's quite interesting.
