Still on waterfalls. It was supposed to be a mini-series, but I'm not so sure if it's still mini anymore. I was wondering how many more waterfalls I can write about and listed them out. Turns out I have enough to last until the first Sunday of February, so bear with me. Also, that list is getting quite long, maybe I should consolidate it with a post or something.
This week we head to Olympic Peninsula, WA, home of the famous Olympic National Park, and share our experience and views from the Marymere Falls Trail. The trail is a short 2.7km out-and-back trail with close to 100m elevation gain. The park, like all other national parks in America, is very well maintained with trails in excellent shape. The hike was relatively short and easy, as most of the trail was flat and wide. Eventually, we reached a section where we could see Barnes Creek and crossed 2 bridges over different sections of the creek. One was a wider metal framed bridge with wooden planks as walkway; the other was a narrow bridge made completely of wood. After crossing the bridges and ascending some stairs, the waterfall was in sight. The waterfall wasn't very tall or big, but was still pretty. On our way back to the parking lot, we made a small detour to see the beautiful Lake Crescent.
Sign at the trailhead.
I believe this is the ranger station located near the trailhead.
Underpass tunnel crossing State Highway 101 aka Olympic Highway.
I like this shot. It look as if we were going through a tunnel into another dimension..
Trail is well maintained, wide, and flat.
Beautiful tree standing tall next to the trail.
Typical Pacific Northwest forest.
Moss growing on tree bark. Symbiosis on display.
Barnes Creek and two bridges.
Narrow wooden bridge.
Final section before reaching the waterfall. Some stairs to ascend.

It reminds me of those spaceships going through wormhole warp scenes in sci-fi movies.
