Had to post the hiking post this week quite late because I just got home. Better late than never, but I'll try to keep it short so I can catch the rest of the Warriors vs Rockets game.
This week we head to a very popular hike in the city of North Vancouver, Quarry Rock from Deep Cove. This is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of approximately 4km and an elevation gain of about 200m. Due to its ease of access, relatively easy difficulty, and beautiful views at the viewpoint, this trail had been an extremely popular trail for many years. Parking usually fills up if you arrive at the parking lot later than 8am and the trail has a lot of foot traffic. Also due to the heavy use, the trail had been built our with lots of wooden stairs and boardwalks to help prevent soil erosion as well as help improve safety while going up and down slopes. This trail is actually a short section and also the eastern end section of the Baden Powell Trail that traverses the entire north shore mountain range, from the east starting at Deep Cove to the west ending at Horseshoe Bay. The trail does continue well past Quarry Rock, but most hikers taking this trail would end the advance of their hike at the beautiful view point of Quarry Rock and then head back the same way they came.
Sunrise at Deep Cove. It's a good idea to come early, as the parking lot fills up very fast early in the day due to the trail's popularity.
Trailhead.
Wooden stairs.
More wooden stairs and boardwalks.
Even more wooden stairs and boardwalks.
Trail is well maintained and well marked.

Beauty!
I believe no man should die without beholding Nature's beauty among the mountains.
This is Mount Harmukh in Kashmir for you my friend
That is a very beautiful view! Thank you for sharing.
I wish you come here and behold the entire valley. It's worth every step. There's an 80km trek to reach it though.
I don't have plans to visit the Himalayas or India in the short to medium future. I'll be sure to let you know if I ever visit.
Do you usually hike alone, or in pairs? Or with a larger group (5+ people)?
These hiking posts that I had been posting are all past hikes with most of them done between 2020-2022. Although some hikes date as far back as 2017 and as recent as 2025. I went on most of these hikes with my family (wife and 3 kids), although I went on a few solo and also a few with a friend. My youngest son was younger and lighter during a lot of these hikes, so I used to carry him using a baby carrier #459541. My daughter and older son would walk on their own and we went on to conquer numerous peaks and trails as a family.
WOOW SO AMAZING, SURE YOU HAVE ENJOYED THE BEUTFUL NATURAL LIFE
Tidy looking trail
Trail is very popular and heavily used, so I guess they want to keep it tidy and in good shape.
Beautiful. First pic is amazing.
Thanks
