pull down to refresh

We visited Kanaka Creek Regional Park back in June 2020. With everything shutdown, it was great and comforting to find that parks, trails, mountains, and sea remained opened. After we parked our cars in the parking lot, we quickly found our wat onto the Canyon Trail. We saw that there was a salmon hatchery in this park, but it was in the opposite direction of the trail we wanted to walk, so we decided we can come back for the salmon hatchery after we finish with our walk.
With typical Pacific Northwest forest growth all around us, we made our way through the forest following the trails. The trail was wide and well maintained, and it follows the creek as it went. Eventually, we reached Cliff Falls, a very small waterfall, which I forgot to include in my waterfall sub-series. We also went across a wooden bridge, went up and down some stairs. We were able to find a spot by the creek for the kids to play in the water. We had too much fun and by the time we got back to the parking lot, it was way past lunch time with everyone hungry. So we skipped checking out the salmon hatchery and went for lunch instead.
Driving into the park. Sign with name of the park plus some extra COVID related signs.
Starting our walk.
Trail sign. We decided to check out Cliff Falls and the surrounding trails.
The trail follows the creek.
Wild berries long the trail. I believe these are raspberries.
More of the creek.
Going up some stairs.
Cliff Falls
We saw this interesting looking plant. We looked it up, apparently, it's called salal or shallon.
Wooden bridge.
The creek continues.
Going down some other stairs.
Dense growth.
Slug on moss.
We got into the creek at this spot and had fun playing in the water.
Checking out the map. I have no idea who's finger is that, but it sure belongs to a member of my family.
Others getting close to the water.
Fallen tree.

Have you ever come across a bear on any of these hikes?

Yep. Only once though at mount Seymour. I wrote about it here. #438583
This is the picture of said bear. https://m.stacker.news/17482
I ran into people who claimed to have saw bears further ahead down the trail 5 or more times, but we never end up seeing the bear.
