pull down to refresh

It's been a busy day for me, and I still have a ton of things to do, so I'll try to keep the write up short. This week we head to Mount Thom Park to hike the Thom Creek Trail and reach Thom Peak. Mount Thom Park is located in Chilliwack, BC. We went on this hike back in September, 2022. The trail is about 7km out-and-back with approximately 400m elevation gain. It was one of the hikes that my little one started to walk on his own. He made it to the top by himself and I carried him down using the baby carrier. He was 4 years old at the time, so not bad for him for hiking 3.5km and 400m uphill. The viewpoint at Thom Peak features views of Cultus Lake, Chilliwack, and nearby farmlands.
Chilliwack is known for growing corn. It was corn harvesting season and we saw a lot of corn fields like this one on our drive to the trailhead.

Hiking 3.5km uphill at age four is seriously impressive. Those are the kind of core memories that last a lifetime

We used to hike quite a bit, so I guess we started training him early.

Steps do help in steeper sections.

Chilliwack sweet corn is actually really good. They're only available during corn harvest period in late summer each year.
